I was going to file my petition far name and gender change that day with a friend. I had thought this day would never come. Never was about how soon I could scrape together the money to get my name and gender change. I was caught up in a catch-22 that many find themselves in: they can’t get a job because they have a the wrong gender marked on their license, but they can’t get it changed because they don’t have the money to pay for a lawyer because they can’t get work.
The past week or so has really grounded me and I finally feel as though I’ve moved back into my apartment. I’ve reconstructed my tsuboniwa complete with koi. I’ve made more time for tea and meditation and I had an itch to paint again. This time I used a rather large canvas. It is kinda […]

As I was driving down the road to meet with the inspectors, I found an apparently abandoned and seemingly forgotten graveyard. It is actually a surreal. Many new townhomes are built around the graveyard and all of their neatly manicured backyards abruptly end to become something out of a horror movie. Strangely, there way little in the way of garbage or vandalism. It is as if everyone has simply decided to pretend that this place just does not exist.
