Alpha-Male

There is a small town stuck between Houston and Galveston. It is one of the many settlements south of Houston that seems to cling to the freeway for life. This particular berg is famous for three things:

1.) A large topless joint that beckons men to exit the freeway so they can have their heart broken by at least 162 women…

Thomas Paine

Thomas Paine – the man who came up with the name, “United States of America” and who is arguably the founding father of America and of the age of American enlightenment – has largely been forgotten by the people who benefited from his courage, charisma, logic and rhetoric. Instead, we in America treat Paine as some type of neglected step-child that is hidden away. I was never introduced to Paine until college, we don’t honor his efforts with great memorials or on our money and he is usually only (wrongly) quoted by the right wing.

I did a couple of paintings over the weekend. I have no idea (other than lack of talent) why I keep on painting rectangle-ish shapes in such happy colors, but that is what I seem to wind up with for some reason.
