Moving & Narnia

Cristan

Another full day!

This morning started out with a few of the STAG guys helping Carolyn and I move a lot of antique furniture that will go into the TG Center once the inside construction is done:

Nick, Nico and Darin

Carolyn and Nick’s Daughter

At the storage unit

This whole experience was new to me. The guys didn’t expect me to do the heavy work. Usually, when I move, I get the feeling that I am expected to do the more physically difficult things because I’m bigger than most women and people tend to see me as a take-charge kind of girl. Today was the first time that I was in a moving situation and I wasn’t expected to Tote any barges or lift any bails. Thanks guys for that experience!

Afterwards, I went back home for lunch and took a short nap. Then Carolyn and I went to see the new Narnia:

It was entertaining enough to get me past the whole Jesus/Christianity allegory aspect of the story, but I didn’t think that it was as good as the first. Don’t get me wrong – it is a good movie and worth the ticket price, but it was kind of the same thing as the first. The first Narnia epic battle scene was spectacular  – all felt very original. This battle scene didn’t offer a great deal in the way of surprises and they borrowed way too much from the whole Spartan theme. But… I loved the characters – they made the movie. I mean it… the characters were just great! The lesson of the movie was kind of silly to me: Because they didn’t have faith in the Jesus allegory, the Jesus allegory allowed most of the good guys to die in horrific ways… So, always have faith in the Jesus allegory… OR ELSE.
