Stuff & Sutch

Cristan

Over the past few days, I’ve come to the conclusion that I have had a low-grade depression or malaise. As you see from my last post, I’m having some job issues. Add to that, someone I care a lot about was treated badly by a affiliate doc that comes to HACS once a week or so. Then comes that moron Lee… The past 2 or 3 weeks, I’ve felt as if The Powers That Be have set their attention to trying to disrupt the things I’ve put a lot of effort into.

I’ve worked hard to make the HACS program actually useful and beneficial to the community. Then comes the pencil-pushers trying to disrupt it all and turn it into nothing more than an “Just Say No to HIV” campaign within the community. Lee comes along and inspires fear in the community using the very thing I created to promote a more supportive community: transhouston. A visiting doc treats a TG client with zero sensitivity at the clinic that a fought to put together and he seriously harms someone. Ghaa!

On the flip-side, many good things are still in the works. Each week brings some amazing things for the community one step closer to fruition.

I’m lobbying hard to preserve the HACS program as it is. I’m making a formal grievance against that particular doc tomorrow. I’ve reported Lee to the FBI three times, the HPD twice and the SFPD. Lilly talked to Phyllis about Lee’s actions and I’ve contacted a programmer acquaintance of mine (who helped me with some of the original TH code) to see if he will help me (for some cash) go through the tons of TH code and help make the site more secure.

New Houston TG Group To Form…

Carolyn and I, along with some relatively unknown TGs and Lin (the Thai Doc that used to work for the TG clinic) are forming a 501c3 nonprofit to produce serious money to support the needs of the community.

In the past, a few of us had tried to form the “TG Fund” and even held a garage sale, but it quickly folded and the cash was given to Vanity’s fund for HIV. This new organization will be looking at serious sustainability issues. In addition to general fundraising, all of us understand that the only real way to fund our community is to have a for-profit business that dumps it’s profits into the non-profit, which in turn, provides money to support the needs of the local community.

We don’t have a name for it yet, but we have our thinking-caps on!

TG Task Force Update…

The City is still hashing out details with their lawyers. As soon as I get an update, I’ll contact everyone that wanted to be involved!

More To Come…

I’m biting my lips right now to announce something really cool… but that is still a month or so away.
