Katy Stewart from the Texas Transgender Education Network asked me for some trans activism images for a project she’s working for. I thought I’d share them since (IMHO) they’re all interesting and some of them have not seen the light of day for 40 years:

The Queens Liberation Front was an action arm of the NY trans community in the early 1970s. These are the folks who paid for the queer community’s post-stonewall legal battle. These are the folks who paid the bills for the Mattachine Society. These are the folks who fought early anti-trans RadFem (TERF) bullshit (RadFems were trying to have trans folk barred from the City Hall restrooms). These are the folks who paid for and helped organize the National meetings of Homophile Organizations before StoneWall. These are the folks who were legally challenging and conducting actions against anti-queer laws in New York prior to Stonewall.

When was the last time you heard of these people? These 2 images are 40 years old. Have you ever seen them before?
